My Notifications

As many of us know, it can be really useful for Business Central to notify you that you have forgotten to post that sales invoice. Or that you have not released the sales order on which you have just been working. But often, and particularly if you are an experienced Business Central user, you only want the system to notify you of “very specific” and targeted conditions.

You can control these notifications; you can configure Business Central’s Notifications Engine for your individual requirements; and you can tailor these notifications for a specific range of records.

When you open “My Settings” from the Settings prompt, simply select “Change when I receive notifications”. There are a plethora of options, ranging from “Update Bill-to Customer Address” to “Work Date Reminder”. Simply tick or un-tick the Enabled field for each individual notification.

For particular requirements—such as a customer having an overdue balance—it may be useful to filter the notification so that it only applies to a particular group of customers. For that functionality, simply click on “(View filter details)” in the Conditions field. Configuring these settings opens up the power to, say, only display an overdue balance for Customers with a Customer Posting Group = ‘DOMESTIC’.

And the added benefit of this functionality is that it is configured for you, as an individual user. Which means the system is responding to your individual requirements.
