Is Purview included in E5?

Yes. Microsoft 365 E5 includes Microsoft Purview’s advanced compliance and data governance capabilities as part of the subscription, giving organisations access to the full Purview suite without the need for separate Purview Suite add‑ons.

This means E5 customers get premium compliance tools, including advanced data loss prevention (DLP), insider risk management, communication compliance, eDiscovery Premium, advanced audit, information protection and governance, records management, and more, all integrated under the Microsoft Purview umbrella.

In practical terms, if your users are licensed with Microsoft 365 E5, you already have rights to the complete set of Purview compliance and governance features designed for highly regulated environments, so you won’t normally need additional Purview licenses.
