Emma, one of our volunteers extraordinaire, regularly volunteers with St John Ambulance. She recently spent a day of her company-allocated volunteer time off (VTO) at Agfest, the annual agricultural field days organised and completed by volunteer members of Rural Youth Tasmania.

In 2024, Agfest attracted over 50,000 attendees. The event relies on volunteers for its smooth running, and St John Ambulance Tasmania regularly provides the First Aid at this event.

“It's amazing to walk around the event and know that almost everyone in a high-vis vest is a volunteer, including Rural Youth, SES (State Emergency Services), TFS (Tasmania Fire Service), and Rotary Club to name a few.”

Over the eight days that St John were present, they totalled 465 volunteer hours with 16 volunteers.
