DYNAMICS 365 FINANCE AND OPERATIONS
Is this you?If you recognise three or more of these, you are not alone and the problem is fixable. Your go-live date has moved more than once.
Your project is meaningfully over its original budget.
Users are running parallel processes in Excel or your legacy system.
Month-end close is taking longer, not less, since go-live.
Your MVP implementation is live, but it is not delivering the functional requirements your business needs.
Your relationship with your current implementation partner has broken down.
You have a new CFO, CIO, or executive sponsor inheriting an in-flight programme.
Auditors, regulators, or a board deadline are no longer comfortably in the future.
Your team has lost confidence; quietly, but unmistakably.

You may not need to start again, but you do need an honest view of what is recoverable.
Troubled ERP projects are rarely simple. The issue may be design, governance, data, integrations, customisation, adoption, resourcing, partner performance, or a combination of these. Our first role is not to assign blame. It is to give your leadership team a clear, independent view of what is working, what is not, and what needs to happen next.
A ladder, not a leap
Dynamics 365 projects are business-critical. When they go well, they give finance, operations, procurement, warehousing, manufacturing, and leadership teams the control and visibility they need to run with confidence.
But when an implementation starts to drift, the impact is felt quickly. Timelines move. Costs rise. Testing exposes unresolved issues. Users lose confidence. Reporting becomes difficult to trust. Workarounds multiply. And executive sponsors are left asking whether the project is still on the right path.
Professional Advantage helps organisations recover troubled Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations projects. Whether your implementation has stalled, your go-live is at risk, your current partner relationship has broken down, or your live system is not delivering the value expected, we can help you assess the situation and create a practical path forward.
Our engagements are shaped around the condition of your project, the urgency of the issues, and the outcomes your business needs to achieve. Most organisations start with an independent assessment before deciding whether the right next step is targeted remediation, a broader recovery programme, or a clean re-implementation.

Implementation Health Check |
An independent diagnostic across configuration, data, integrations, customisations, governance, licensing, and adoption. Delivered by senior, Australian-based consultants. You get a clear view of what is working, what isn't, what is recoverable, and what needs to happen next. |
| 2 |
Targeted Remediation Programme |
A focused engagement against your highest priority workstreams. A senior consultant works alongside your team to address specific areas of concern, such as workflows, integrations, licensing, security, intercompany, AP/AR, tax, reporting, or operational processes that are preventing the system from delivering as intended. |
| 3 |
Recovery Programme |
A structured, multi-workstream programme to restore confidence in the platform and the project. This may include reconfiguring broken processes, redesigning integrations, retraining users, re-baselining governance, strengthening release management, and rebuilding stakeholder confidence, delivered by a senior-led team. |
| 4 |
Re-implement |
Sometimes the right answer is to start again, but smarter. Where the existing design, configuration, data model, or delivery approach cannot support the required business outcomes, we can help you reimplement Dynamics 365 on a cleaner foundation using our 30 years of Australian Microsoft Dynamics experience, delivery methodology, and accelerator IP. |

Our engagement principle Remediation programmes require a collaborative approach, with dedicated PA consulting commitment along with matching availability from your team. This protects momentum, reduces rework, and gives the engagement the focus needed to deliver measurable progress. |
Three of our most recent Dynamics 365 engagements have been project rescues
Rescue work is not theoretical for PA. Several of our recent engagements began when organisations needed help recovering stalled implementations, stabilising live environments, rebuilding confidence, or transitioning from delivery arrangements that were no longer working.
A national education services organisationImplementation by offshore and local contractors had stalled pre-go-live. PA was brought in mid-stream, provisioned the environment, completed the go-live, and now provides ongoing Release Management and Support. |
A global data and AI companyMulti-entity, multi-country Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environment transferred to PA mid-project. We ran a full system review and now lead a continuous programme of remediation and value delivery under Managed Services with Release Management. |
An Australian e-settlements technology businessPA stabilised a Dynamics 365 Finance environment where broken integrations and customisations were disrupting downstream finance processes. Support readiness was restored despite significant internal team churn. |
How a PA rescue works
Five steps to understand what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to happen next.
Listen
We sit down with your executive sponsor, finance lead, IT lead, and a sample of end users. No assumptions.
Diagnose
Configuration, data, integrations, customisations, governance, and adoption are assessed against the outcomes your project needs to deliver.
Roadmap
A prioritised, costed plan that separates what your team can own, what PA can support, and what requires specialist remediation.
Execute
A dedicated, onshore recovery team, led by an Engagement Lead and supported by accelerator IP to compress the timeline.
Stabilise and support
Our Managed Services and Release Management practice keeps your environment stable, secure, current, and continuously improving.
We look beyond the configuration
A troubled Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations implementation is rarely caused by one broken workflow, one missed requirement, or one configuration issue. Those things matter, but they are usually symptoms of a deeper problem.
That is why our Health Check looks at the implementation holistically, not just functionally. We assess the solution itself, but we also look at the conditions around it: governance, decision-making, process ownership, internal capability, stakeholder alignment, partner performance, and the way scope and priorities have been managed.
This matters because a rescue only works if the root causes are understood. If the same decision patterns, delivery constraints, or organisational gaps remain in place, functional remediation may only provide temporary relief.
Our assessment helps identify what is broken, why it happened, what needs to change, and what conditions must be in place for recovery to hold. The result is a more defensible recommendation: stabilise, recover, or re-implement.
Senior-led, onshore teams
Your engagement is led by experienced solution architects and senior consultants. Based in Australia. Accountable to you.
Proven accelerator IP
Ready-built enhancement packs for common Australian Dynamics 365 requirements help reduce custom development, compress timelines, and avoid rebuilding known functionality from scratch.
Flexible engagement models
Every rescue situation is different. Some organisations need an independent assessment. Others need targeted remediation, hands-on recovery support, partner transition assistance, or a more substantial reset. We shape the engagement around the condition of your project, your internal capability, your commercial constraints, and the level of urgency involved.
Independent by design
Our first role is to give you an honest view of your options. If targeted remediation is enough, we will tell you. If a broader recovery programme is required, we will explain why. And if the most practical path is to re-implement on a stronger foundation, we will help you make that decision with confidence.
A long-term home
When the rescue is done, you do not have to find another partner. Our Client Care and Release Management practice has been keeping Microsoft environments safe and current for decades.

What you are probably wondering
Common questions from organisations considering an independent Dynamics 365 project recovery assessment.
We are still working with our current SI partner. Can we still bring you in?
Yes. The Health Check is intentionally independent and time-boxed. Many of our most successful rescues began while the original partner was still on the ground. Boards and audit committees expect this kind of due diligence at this stage of a troubled programme.
How quickly can you start?
We will assess urgency during the first conversation and advise what is realistic based on the scope, complexity, consultant availability, and level of support required. Where a situation is business-critical, we will work with you to identify the fastest practical path forward without over-promising.
Will you tell us when we should walk away from the current system?
Yes. Our Findings Report explicitly recommends Stabilise, Recover, or Re-implement based on what the diagnostic shows. We have an interest in your long-term outcome, not in maximising the size of the next engagement.
Are you only for large enterprises?
No. Our sweet spot is Australian mid-market organisations from AUD $50M to $2B revenue. We have also rescued government and not-for-profit programmes.
Is there a cost to the first conversation?
No. The first consultation is 45 minutes, free, and gives you a candid view of whether a Health Check is the right next step, or whether a different conversation entirely is.
Can you work alongside our internal IT team?
Always. Our rescue pods are designed to operate as an extension of your team, not a replacement for it. We transfer knowledge as we go.
Not sure whether your Dynamics 365 project needs rescue, remediation, or a full reset?
Start with a confidential 45-minute consultation. We’ll help you talk through what is happening, where the risk may be sitting, and whether a structured health check is the right next step.
There is no obligation to replace your current partner, restart the project, or commit to a larger engagement. The goal is simple: give you a clearer view of your options before more time, budget, or confidence is lost.
Confidential discussion. No obligation. Practical next steps.
