What are Project Sites in SharePoint 2013?

When embarking on a new project, a SharePoint‑based project site can prove useful for planning out the work, collaborating with project team members and accessing project documents and other files.

The first task is to start planning your project. Once you have your Project Site set up, you can start by adding tasks to your project and adding people to the project team. You can also add a column to a task list, set up a timeline, add structure to your task list and add whatever files you need to keep the project moving and on track.

You can also share your project information with others by setting up permissions to allow people to view and change your project site, including the capabability to view tasks and events in the Project Summary web part.

The project management capabilities in SharePoint are powerful, easy to use and will help ensure your project delivers on its objectives.
