Essendon FC

New customer joins Professional Advantage

 

Essendon Football Club has implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP and Microsoft Dynamics RMS as an integrated solution to provide increased operational effectiveness and efficiencies across the business. The club has previously used a lot of stand-alone systems that did not provide an overall view across all operations.

Currently Essendon FC is implementing Dynamics CRM which will be used as a membership system and
will also integrate with the ticketing and event applications to provide a complete view of how Essendon fans
and friends interact with the club.
 
Overall with the three Dynamics products in place, Essendon FC will be in a much better position to easily understand and analyse its business while at the same time giving members and fans of the club a far better experience.

Tips and Tricks

Save time, improve productivity with these tips & tricks

 

Now you have captured customer information you can start to do some data analysis. Advanced Find is the built-in CRM user querying tool that can be used for saved views and adhoc queries. 



You can use Advanced Find to:

Save views for regular usage such as:

    Review if key customer data is being added by your team

    Segment data to create targeted saved views

Analyse customer information through Microsoft Excel


To see a demonstration of how to use the Advanced Find feature please click here or else try it out by following the steps below:

In this case we are going to create an Advanced Find to show all the Accounts that this user owns in the business services industry.

    1. Navigate to the Accounts View and then click on the Advanced Find Button

    2. Click on the Show Details Button and select the Industry Attribute Equals Business Service

    3. Click on the Find Button to activate the Advanced Find query. The result is a list of customer accounts that match the criteria defined in your query

    4. To add columns to the current view, navigate back to the query by clicking on Back to Query

    5. Click on Edit Columns and select the columns that you would like to add to your final result view

    6. Once you have finished, click on the Find Button again to view the result

    7. If you would like to be able to reuse this Advanced Find view later on, navigate back to the query by clicking
      on Back to Query to save the settings

    8. Click the Save As button and save the Query as My Active Business Services Accounts

    9. Refresh the Account area page and you now have a My view of My Active Business Services Accounts which can be used as necessary and also shared with other CRM users.

    Excel

    Exporting Data to an Excel Pivot Table

     

    In CRM 4.0 you can export any list, such as the results of a search that you create in Advanced Find, to Microsoft Office Excel. You can export the lists to an Excel static worksheet, a dynamic worksheet or a dynamic pivot table. A dynamic worksheet or pivot table allows users to refresh data from within Excel without having to run the query or access the list in CRM.


    To see a demonstration of how to Export data to an Excel Pivot Table please click here or else try it out by following the steps below:

     

    1. In any area with a list of records, click the Export to Excel buttonExport to Excel button on the Actions toolbar  

    2. Choose the Dynamic PivotTable option

    3. To add or remove a column in the report, click Select Columns

    4. In the Select PivotTable Columns list, select or clear the check boxes for the fields as needed, and then
      click OK. By default, only fields that are displayed in the Select PivotTable Columns list are included in the PivotTable Field List

    5. Click Export

    6. Open the file containing the PivotTable:


      • To view the PivotTable, click Open

       

      If you are using Microsoft Office Excel 2003, click Enable automatic refresh

      –  OR –

       
       

      If you are using Microsoft Office Excel 2007, you will see a message that says “the file you are ..
      ..trying open is in a different format than specified by the file extension”. Click Yes

       

      If you see the security warning Data connections have been disabled, click Options, and
      ..then click Enable this content, and then click OK


    7. Drag the fields from the PivotTable Field List to the PivotTable

    8. To refresh data in the file, click Refresh from CRM

    9. To save the exported data to a file in Excel, on the File menu, click Save
