LATEST NEWS: Version GP 2010 is out and there are some great new features for you!
Below is just a selection of some exciting examples out of multitude of enhancements and additions in the new version.
Business Portal Executive Center
Why is this feature cool?
The Executive Center in Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 has been completely updated to display new KPI’s and metrics based on SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports. There are newly created pages to organise the metrics for executives in the following areas:
- Company Overview
- Financials
- Sales
- Inventory
- Project
These new KPI’s and metrics are displayed out of the box and work immediately with your live customer data. Each metric is drillable, meaning a user can click on the metric to display an additional detailed metric or report. Some metrics also include drill-back functionality that will open the Microsoft Dynamics GP client (when installed) or display similar data as it would appear in the client application.
User Copy
Why is this feature cool?
- Provides the ability to quickly copy all security access from one user to another
- Copies all security operations, tasks, roles and company access
- Increases efficiency for the Security Administrator and reduces security setup errors for new users
With both User and Company saved, the user can launch Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 and get to their role-based home page with ONE CLICK and no user interaction!
With Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, you will find a number of new options to increase the flexibility and control when building your Payables Check batches! You can restrict payables invoices by a range of Vendor ID’s and their payment priority. You can also apply multiple filters at the same time when you build your payables check batch. You also have an option in Payables Setup to exclude all expired discounts from payments when you are restricting by due date/discount date.
Recurring Cash Receipts Batch
Why is this feature cool?
With Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, you can setup a Cash Receipts Entry batch as a recurring batch type. This will allow users to very quickly post cash receipts such as fixed monthly payments received for services, utilities, or other common type of regular customer payments, without having to manually enter each cash receipt on a recurring basis.
Excel Report Builder
Why is this feature cool?
Drill down on Excel Report Builder reports to Microsoft Dynamics GP. The drill downs you build can be automatically embedded within Excel Report Builder Reports or manually added into any other office application such as Word, Outlook emails, SRS reports or within SharePoint pages.
How could customers use Drill Down Builder?
Scenario: First, generate an Excel Report Builder report that shows total inventory per item. Embedded in the report is a drill down to the Item Quantities Inquiry window in Dynamics GP. If the user needs to know more about the stock for a particular item, they simply drill down from the Excel Report into the details you need in Microsoft Dynamics GP.
Home Page Metrics
Why is this feature cool?
The metrics, charts, and KPI’s that are available on the Microsoft Dynamics GP Home Pages now leverage SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports. This enables greater flexibility for our customers in regards to the metrics that are displayed and how they can be accessed.
- Metrics built using Office Web Components are still available to the users
- Customers can choose SQL Server Reporting Services as their metric source
- Over 100 fully customisable metrics that can appear on the Microsoft Dynamics GP Home Page
- Companies can easily create their own metrics they want displayed on the Home Page
- Metrics are part of the SQL Server Reporting Services Deployment Wizard
- Metrics may be deployed to SQL Reporting Services in either Native or SharePoint mode
- Reporting Services metrics will appear in the SQL Reporting Services Report List; making them available to add as links on the Home Page
- All metrics are available to use in Business Portal as well
- Users can display multiple metrics on the Home Page at one time, or display just one at a time with the option to scroll through the metrics
